Nico has set up a charitable initiative called ‘Forests Without Frontiers’ after recording the musicians in the forests of Transylvania for her debut album “Be One”. For more information about this project visit the website www.forestswithoutfrontiers.org.
‘Forests Without Frontiers’ is a charitable initiative launched by 'Muzică Without Frontiers'. After years of working on projects linked to the protection of the virgin forests in Romania, I have decided that the best way I can help with their protection is by linking up my creative/artistic work to this cause. Which is why I’ve decided that all album profit sales will go towards planting oak trees in Transylvania. In this way, we help preserve the natural habitat of the musicians featured in my album, as well as plant an forests for the future generation. The trees will be planted by a local NGO, who I have collaborated with previously on other forest related projects. I have seen their in-depth research on this subject, and we have a strategy in place for reforestation of the areas where there have been massive ‘clear outs’ of pristine virgin forests. I’ve decided on oak trees as they are harder to regenerate then beach trees, and oak forests are rarer these days to find in that location. You will be able to visit the area where the trees are planted or even get involved in planting your own tree. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to support this initiative.
'Muzică Without Frontiers' has launched early on this year it’s first charitable initiative called ‘Wild Forests Forever’, which focuses on the protection of the virgin forests in Romania. We have already supported a successful project by saving a large part of untouched virgin forests from being cut down. This is the area where the musicians featured in my album live, and one of the reason I returned there this year to record and film Babu Ion, who I met in February whilst visiting the virgin forests in the area. You can choose to support this cause if you prefer. A very important cause, and it’s where it all started!
